The Church of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican), Kitchener, Ontario, is seeking a Director of Music who will work creatively in developing and expanding the existing choir and parish music program in the Anglican musical tradition, recruit choristers, and understand the ministry of music as integral to the community’s spiritual formation and proclamation.
The Director of Music’s musicianship and commitment to the mission of the Church will inspire participation of other musicians and instrumentalists in our common worship. The Director of Music will also encourage musical partnerships and collaborations with other musicians and groups beyond the parish as such opportunities arise. The successful candidate will communicate well and have good interpersonal skills.

Qualifications and Duties:
We invite applicants whose qualifications and experience correspond to Levels 3-4 in the RCCO/CRCO Table of Recommended Salaries (2022). This is a 20 hours/week part-time employee position with a weekly choir rehearsal and one Sunday Eucharist, as well as Christmas and Holy Week liturgies and other occasional services, including weddings and funerals.
The 17-voice parish choir (SATB) sings choral repertoire and leads congregational song and liturgy. A choral scholar program is being developed. Most choristers read well.

The sanctuary organs are a 1977 Gabriel Kney (two manuals and pedal), and a 1947, 1962 Casavant Frères (two manuals and pedal with a third manual used as a coupling manual). The sanctuary piano is a Yamaha C3 Grand. St. John’s also has a three-octave set of Malmark handbells. The live sanctuary acoustics and central location of the church favour St. John’s as a concert venue in the Region of Waterloo.

Responsibility and Accountability:
The Director of Music is responsible for all aspects of the musical life of the parish, works under the supervision of the Rector, and is responsible to the Wardens on matters of contract and employment.  The Director of Music is also expected to work co-operatively with other parish staff, lay leaders, and parishioners, and in all relationships be in compliance with the Safe Church policies of the Diocese of Huron.

St. Jude’s Church, London is looking for a Custodian/Hall Manager.
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours, with the dual role of Custodian and Hall Rental Manager. A flexible schedule will be needed to accommodate both Custodial and Rental responsibilities. Consideration will also be given to two persons sharing the position.
Under the Custodian position primary responsibilities include the day-to-day cleaning and general maintenance of the Church Building and surrounding area.
Under the Hall Rental Manager position primary responsibilities include preparing rooms for rental functions, including set up, clean up and on-site management of some rental groups.

  • Develop and manage the budget in cooperation with the treasurer and bookkeeper.

  • Recruit, train and mentor Sunday School and Youth volunteers.
  • Ensure the visibility of our children through intergenerational activities (e.g. participating in liturgy through reading and singing, sharing crafts/teachings with the congregation, etc.)
  • Maintain an on-going relationship with parishioners
  • Implement and maintain Safe Church initiative, Canon 40 (

Communication with:

  • Children and Youth volunteers – meet regularly to assess progress and address concerns
  • Rector – keep informed of plans and concerns.
  • Children and their parents – regular communication


  • Co-ordinate special events and family discipleship days (e.g. Christmas pageant).
  • Plan and facilitate take-home resources
  • Participate in confirmation preparation with clergy
  • Work in collaboration with neighbouring Anglican parishes in delivering youth ministry throughout Waterloo

We are two dynamic Anglican churches seeking a Parish Administrator, either separately or together.  The Church of the Holy Saviour is a parish in Uptown Waterloo and Church of St. John the Evangelist is in downtown Kitchener. 
We are looking for a self-motivated person with good relational and communication skills to perform administrative and receptionist duties on a part-time basis at each church with time totaling 27 hours between the two churches.  A familiarity with Anglican church practices would be helpful.
The person we are looking for will be well-organized, attentive to detail and able to work independently.  The successful candidate will be sensitive to all who enter the parish offices or seek ministry over the phone.  Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.  Experience with Microsoft applications, Church Windows, Tithely or a comparable system, website, social media management, and editing is required.
