APPOINTMENT

Bishop Townshend appoints the Venerable Dr Rick Jones as the Interim Priest-in-charge of Trinity, Simcoe, effective 1 January 2026.

From 1 November through 31 December 2025, the Bishop has appointed the Venerable Dr Jim Sutton to serve in this role. 

 

INDUCTIONS

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Amanda Longmoore will induct the Reverend Patty Dobbs Luxton as the Rector of St. John’s, Strathroy, on Sunday, 16 November at 4:00 p.m.

The preacher will be the Reverend Canon Christopher (“Kit”) Greaves (Diocese of Toronto). Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being green. A reception with light refreshments will follow the service. 

 

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Dr Stephen McClatchie will induct the Venerable Matthew Kieswetter as the Rector of St. James’, Paris, on the Feast of the Reign of Christ, Sunday, 23 November at 4:00 p.m.

The preacher will be the Reverend Canon Bob Schroeder. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being white. A reception will follow the service. 

 

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Dr Stephen McClatchie will induct the Venerable Carrie Irwin as the Rector of St. John’s (Sandwich), Windsor, on Advent Sunday, 30 November at 4:00 p.m.

The preacher will be the Venerable Amanda Longmoore. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being blue. All are invited to stay for a reception after the service.

 

Bishop Townshend announces that the following will be called to the Presbyterate at a service of Ordination to be held on the Commemoration of Hilda, Abbess of Whitby, Tuesday, 18 November 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, London.  

Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being red.

    upon ordination, Priest Assistant to the Priest-in-Charge of the Rondeau Bay-Transfiguration Partnership Ministry.

    upon ordination, Priest Assistant to the Rector of All Saints, Windsor.

    Curate to the Rector of St James’, Paris.

NEW HURON CHURCH HOUSE STAFF

Olivia Murray, our new receptionist, is honoured to join the Diocese of Huron and serve as the first point of contact helping to create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere. She looks forward to contributing to the mission of the diocese and to connecting with the people who make it so special.

 

Liliia Petryk is an Accounting Clerk. She is excited to support the financial operations of the Diocese and looks forward to contributing to the efficiency and accuracy of the department's work and collaborating with the team.

 

Valerie Chelangat is our new Communications Officer. She is eager to share stories that highlight the vibrant ministries and people of the Diocese of Huron. Valerie looks forward to strengthening connections and engagement across the diocese.
