INDUCTIONS

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Jane Humphreys will induct the Reverend Jamie Baxter as the Rector of St James’, Wallaceburg and St James’, Port Lambton, on Sunday, 23 February at 5:00 p.m. in Wallaceburg.

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Jane Humphreys will induct the Reverend Gilles Haché as the Rector of St Matthew’s,1600 Norfolk Street, Windsor ON N9E 1H5, on Sunday, 2 March at 5:00 p.m.

The preacher will be the Reverend Jean Doyle. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being green. A dinner reception will follow in the church hall.

APPOINTMENTS

Bishop Townshend appoints the Reverend Rob Henderson as the Rector of St Aidan’s, London, effective 1 April 2025.

The preacher will be the Reverend Canon Dr Grayhame Bowcott. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being green.

Bishop Townshend appoints the Venerable Amanda Longmoore as the Incumbent of St Aidan’s, London, effective 1 May 2025. This is a part-time (0.25 FTE) appointment in addition to Amanda’s role as the Territorial Archdeacon of Western Huron (0.75 FTE).

As Incumbent, she will work alongside the full-time Rector of St Aidan’s.

DECONSECRATIONS

Bishop Townshend will preside at a service of Deconsecration of St. Bartholomew’s, Sarnia, at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, 9 March 2025.

All are welcome. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being violet.

Bishop Townshend will preside at a service of Deconsecration of the former parish Church of St. Luke the Evangelist, London, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, 16 March 2025 (new date). After its disestablishment in 2019, the church was the home of the Luke’s Place Worshipping Community until the conclusion of its ministry in December 2023.

RETIREMENT

Bishop Townshend has accepted the request of the Reverend Bonnie Rayner to retire as the Incumbent of St John’s, Glencoe, effective 31 July 2025. Bonnie was ordained deacon and priest for the Diocese of Algoma in 2006. She came on the strength of Huron in June 2014 as Incumbent of St. John’s, Glencoe, Christ Church, Newbury (closed 2015), and St. Jude’s, Mount Brydges (closed 2021). Bonnie served as a member of the ACW Diocesan Council. 

We give thanks for Bonnie’s ministry and wish her well in her retirement.

COMMISSARY

Archdeacon Tanya Phibbs will be Commissary for Bishop Townshend from 17 February through 3 March while he is on the Compass Rose Society Anglican Communion visit to the Anglican Province of Aotearoa, New Zealand, and Polynesia.
