RETIREMENT

Bishop Townshend has accepted the request of the Reverend Patricia Nunn to retire as the Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church, Port Stanley, effective January 1st, 2024.

Patt was ordained to the diaconate on May 1st, 1984 and to the presbyterate on December 8th, 1984. Upon ordination, she served as the Assistant Curate at St. George’s, Owen Sound with responsibility for the parish of Chatsworth (Desboro, Holland Centre, Walter’s Falls). In 1986 she became Rector of St. John’s, Brussels, St. Mark’s, Auburn, and Trinity Church, Blyth, also serving as the Regional Dean of the Saugeens. After a period on leave, Patt spent a number of years filling in at various parishes before beginning a long-time and meaningful part-time ministry at Christ Church, Port Stanley in 1995. In addition, Patt taught elementary school for over twenty years, retiring in 2020.

We are grateful for her faithful service and we wish her well in retirement.

APPOINTMENTS

Bishop Townshend announces the following interim appointment:

  • The Reverend Canon June Hough, Interim Priest-in-Charge, St. Jude's, London, from January 1st, 2024.

INDUCTION

On behalf of Bishop Townshend, the Venerable Megan Collings-Moore will induct the Rev’d Canon Dr Greg Jenkins as the Rector of the Church of the Holy Saviour in Waterloo on Sunday, December 10th at 4 p.m. You are cordially invited to share in this celebration. The preacher will be the Rev’d Canon David Bowyer. Clergy are invited to vest, the colour being blue.

Location:  The Church of the Holy Saviour is currently under renovation, so please join us at Waterloo Kitchener United Mennonite Church, 15 George Street, Waterloo Ontario.

Parking: is available at WKUM, and may be accessed off either George Street or Allen Street. Please do not park in spots with signs designating them for other groups. There is additional parking at the Church of the Holy Saviour (behind and across the street from WKUM, 33 Allen St E).
