CHAPLAINCIES TO INSTITUTIONS: (Colleges, Hospitals, Jails, Nursing Homes)
The Diocese of Huron supports chaplaincy ministries across a variety of settings, reflecting our commitment to pastoral care in diverse communities.
On university campuses in London, Waterloo, and Windsor, chaplains serve through our three church-related colleges: Huron, Renison, and Canterbury. These chaplains offer spiritual support and pastoral ministry to students, faculty, and staff. Referrals from parish clergy are welcomed and appreciated, especially for students transitioning to university life.
Chaplaincy services in general hospitals, jails, and nursing homes are provided by clerics and lay people within the communities where these institutions are located. These ministries are often coordinated on a deanery basis to ensure consistent and compassionate care.
Clergy from the Diocese of Huron also serve as chaplains within the Canadian Armed Forces while on leave from parish ministry. Their work in military context represents an important extension of our chaplaincy outreach, offering spiritual care and pastoral presence in settings that call for deep resilience and compassion.
