BREAKING (GOOD) NEWS FROM THE ANGLICAN FOUNDATION OF CANADA:
AFC approves the first-ever Category C grant of $50,000 to the HURON FARMWORKERS MINISTRY in the Diocese of Huron.
This is the largest-ever grant in AFC history.
Category C grants were created by the AFC Board in 2022 to enable AFC to be a more flexible funding partner in cases where a diocese might want to rally around a single transformational project in any given year.

  5. The Essex Deanery Lay Leadership Training Classes:  Lay leadership courses for 2023
    ◦  September 16 – Anglican History with Rev. Canon Dr. Gordon Maitland (Please read the book by Mark Chapman, Anglicanism: A Very Short Introduction, Oxford University Press, 2006)
    .  October 21 and November 18 - How to write a sermon (4 pages of the Sermon plus other resources) 
    These classes will be held in person at Canterbury College.  We have partnered with Canterbury College for the Lay Readers courses and they are providing us with the technology support to also bring the classes by zoom.  Please join us for one or for all of the classes.  Please contact Rev.   3. St. Andrew Memorial Church in London (55 Foxbar Road at Wellington) would like to invite everyone to our third Parking Lot Pops Concert happening on Sunday , October 1, from 11-2, weather permitting.
    We have 3 performing groups - the SLUGS ukulele group, the Mocha Shrine Concert Band and the Barclay Road Brass. Rosie’s Streetery food truck will also be there. The concert is free, but all donations received will be directed to the Children’s Health Foundation.  Bring a chair, bring a friend and bring your appetite! We’d love to see you.

  5. A Whole Lotta Shakin Going On at St. James' Church Ingersoll Fundraiser
    St. James' Church Ingersoll is pleased to announce a very fun musical evening - dinner and concert with two outstanding artists! One of our favourite tribute artists, Jackie Grainge from Cambridge, will be singing the tunes of the 50’s and 60’s. Jackie is an awesome performer and always entertains us with her renditions of number one hits.
    And Jackie’s special sidekick will be Shon Carroll from Kitchener. Shon is a past winner at the Collingwood Elvis Festival – so yes, Elvis will be in the house!
    This outstanding dinner concert will be held one night only – Friday October 13th.
    Your evening will begin with cocktails at 6:00 pm (cash bar); dinner at 6:30 pm (a buffet deliciously prepared and served by Thamesford's Village Deli catering team), and, finally a one-hour show of all your favourite rock ‘n roll music songs. There will be “a whole lotta shakin going on”!
    Tickets for the evening are $55.00 and the venue is the Unifor Local 88 Hall on Victoria Street in Ingersoll.

  8. Fall Celebrity Organ Recital at St. Paul's Cathedral
    We hope you'll take this rare opportunity to hear David Enlow, Organist and Choir Master at the Church of the Resurrection in New York City. He will be giving a recital of music by Bach, Dvorak, Mozart, Vierne and Whitlock at St. Paul’s on Friday, October 20 @ 7:30 pm.
    Mr. Enlow has been described as a “commanding” organist (The New Yorker), and his “performances [are] full of color, passion, invention, and power” (The American Record Guide).
    All are welcome to join us for this fabulous event. Admission is by Donation. Save the date and please do join us for what’s sure to be a spectacular organ recital!

  9. St. George's London - Choral Evensong 
    Beginning in the fall, we will be having regular services of Choral Evensong on the fourth Sunday of every month at 4pm, as follows:  
    - September 24
    - October 22
    - November 26
    The service of Nine Lessons & Carols will be held on Sunday, December 17.
    Choral Evensong will continue on the fourth Sunday of the month in 2024 beginning with Sunday, January 28.
