Meet the Candidates: The Venerable Dr. Tim Dobbin

As a parish priest for the past 20 years, nothing brings me greater joy than watching folk grow in their love for God and for one another as followers of Jesus. Some Holy Spirit-inspired discipleship initiatives I have been part of include: teaching courses and facilitating parish-based studies; establishing Messy Church congregations; participating in mission trips to El Salvador, Nicaragua and Brazil; building relationship with Indigenous sisters and brothers; promoting greater care for God’s creation; encouraging local outreach initiatives; helping settle refugee families.

I am grateful for opportunities to serve the Diocese by facilitating discernment programmes, assisting with the diaconate and supporting clergy care, human resources and parish renewal. It has been a privilege to represent the Diocese at a provincial and national level. I am passionate about mentorship and helping the established church transition in a rapidly changing world.
