In appreciation of their ministry: BBQ Luncheon for retirees

The Bishops of Huron once again hosted a BBQ luncheon for the diocesan retirees: retired clergy, clergy spouses, surviving spouses and retired church house staff of the Diocese of Huron.

As in previous years, the event was organized at Church of the Ascension in London on Monday, June 13.

Close to 80 people showed up at the church for the Eucharist celebrated by the Bishop of Huron Robert Bennett. Bishops Bob and Linda welcomed the retirees and early afternoon hours were spent in a joyful and pleasant atmosphere over the luncheon. The volunteers at Church of the Ascension did their part in organizing the event in a splendid manner.

There were lot of memories to share including the ones coming from the bishops who have served this diocese for more than a quarter of a century: beside our current bishops – Diocesan Bishop Bob Bennett and Coadjutor Bishop Linda Nicholls – present at the luncheon were also the former bishops: Most Rev. Percival O’Driscoll (10th Bishop of Huron and 3rd Archbishop of Huron) and Rt. Rev. Bruce Howe (11th Bishop of Huron).

A great turnout at Church of the Ascension for this year’s retiree luncheon.

Take a stroll…

…down memory lane.

There is always something to talk about.

Thanking the volunteers.
