Easter Sunday at St. James Church in Paris started with a Son-Rise service at the cemetery.
Each year, some members of St. James’ gather at the St. James’ Cemetery on Easter morning to witness the sun rise at the Son-Rise Service. Those willing to face the elements at this unique Easter experience find it very meaningful. This Easster hardy souls braved a cool foggy morning to enjoy this unique experience.
After that, another journey into the past took place, this time in our church.
During the service the original font cover from the crypt of St. James’ Church was re-dedicated. The font cover is beautifully restored by Deb Lindquist and Rod Pifher. We believe that it could be 175 years old.
