On Tuesday April 23, Archdeacon Tim Dobbin and Rev. Jenny Sharp left Canada bound for Belem, Brazil. They were asked by Bishop Linda Nicholls to represent her at the signing of a new five-year covenant between the Diocese of Huron and the Diocese of Amazonia.
The signing took place at their Diocesan Synod. Our representatives have been warmly welcomed by Bishop Marinez Bossatto, and her staff. They are staying in the rectory adjacent to their cathedral.
Temperature in Belen is 29c, plus humidity.
Today they travelled to “Mission of Salvador”, in Ulianopils, Brazil. It is 600 km south of Belem. They visited an orphanage for 70 children, where they are taking things that they need from our Diocese.
Tim and Jenny land back in Toronto on Saturday after a 24hr flight.
Stay tuned, more to come!!!
